As SHEQ engineer it is your role to promote the awareness and understanding of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) policies and NINA values within the Marine Services organization, in the office as well as on the project locations.

Marine Services
The Business Unit Marine Services consists of more than 30 vessels, including tugs and construction support vessels. The vessels are used for charters and projects around the world. As a SHEQ Engineer, you will support the teams in the tender, execution and completion phases of the charters and projects from the office. On-site you will support during mobilizations and kick-offs. The expected travel consists of approximately 8-10 weeks per year, in 2-5 day intervals.

Your responsibilities as SHEQ engineer are:

  • Being in the office and projects where in the world the inspiring and stimulating person for the whole BU team regarding SHEQ.
  • Achieving results by understanding the added value of our SHEQ role for the business: providing SHEQ knowledge, documentation and deliverables like bridging documents.
  • You lead by example: be a professional SHEQ representative also for clients and stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback, report and advise management to increase SHEQ knowledge and awareness.
  • Analyzing and assessing processes for the benefit of complying to SHEQ policies and programs. Analyzing, assessing and continuously improving corrective measures. Keep relevant colleagues engaged in improvement processes.
  • Being an ambassador, driven by intrinsic values, for the SHEQ programs.
  • Supporting with tenders and incident investigations.

Your qualities

We are looking for a candidate who is open to new experiences, willing to learn and someone that takes responsibilities. You have a good command in speaking, reading and writing of the English and Dutch language.

You can make your mark as SHEQ Engineer if you have:  

  • A Higher Professional Education (Bachelor) or University (Master) Level;
  • SHEQ education on bachelor level (e.g. Nebosh, Quality Management, Auditing);
  • At least 5 years of experience in supporting of (project) organizations related to SHE and / or Q, preferable in maritime / oil & gas environment;
  • Self-starter, experienced in working in a global environment and dealing with cultural differences;
  • An EU-citizenship.

Extra information  

  • Your team: You are part of our Business Unit team. The team is characterized by their informal yet professional way of working together, flexibility, adaptability and mentality. The team exists of 3 other SHEQ engineers and 1 QA (Quality Assurance) engineer. You will report to the Marine Services SHEQ manager. 
  • Where you will work: You will work from the office, with some travel to projects.
  • Fulltime position: The function of SHEQ engineer is a fulltime position (40 hours a week).
